Andy is a VERY sweet boy, about 2 years old. He was being transferred from a high kill rural pound to a low kill shelter, when it was discovered he was HW positive, and could not be accepted by the shelter. So Andy came to us. Lucky is a very loving and affectionate 7-8 year old male. He loves to give kisses, and run and play in the yard! This handsome boy is housetrained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. BRUTUS was in a pound in Gary Indiana, when we heard about him he only had hours to live. Luckily a few IAMRA volunteers (thank you Tammy K and Bonnie) stepped up to get him to safety and pay his boarding til we could make arrangements for him. And we're so thankful they did. Cody came back to us when his owners had a sudden and unexpected changes in their lives. He is a senior gent, approx 11, and is in wonderful shape and very spry. Molly is a mature girl (around 5 or 6) from a downstate pound, who was not only abandoned, but also  HEARTWORM POSITIVE :(  A local girlscout group raised money for her treatment, and we agreed to take her and find her a new loving home.  Molly is a total love. She is a sweetheart, a pleaser, and missing a few teeth doesn't hamper her ability to eat - we don't think she knew what treats were - but she does now! Look at this adorable woolie boy! He is about a year old, and was rescued by a good Samaritan - his "owner" was going to sell him at a flea market! Thank goodness the Good Sam stepped in, and Bandit is now safe with us at IAMRA. He is a happy bouncy pup, and seems to do well with most other dogs, females, and some laid back males. He's too much "puppy" for small kids tho.

SHANDI is about 18 months old, and has not had a great life :( She was dumped by a "breeder" for not getting along with other dogs or kids. It was just an excuse, as she doesn't seem to have a problem with either. This poor girl however, was never socialized and possibly mistreated, she is terrified of just about everything. Montana is mostly mal, and small in stature - even tho he is done growing at his age (around 2). He is very nice, loves people, and does well with most other dogs. He has nice manners, and is a total sweetheart - a great family dog. Badge will need a mal savvy/mal experienced home with no small children, and he needs training. He may do well with a non dominant female dog. LB is an easygoing (and huge!) 6-7 year old fellow, very friendly and sweet.  The shelter said he was not good with other dogs - but he seems to be dog tolerant - he does not seem to want to go after dogs walking near him, he just may prefer to be the only dog in the household. LB has very nice manners!

Dakota 7 is a wonderful gent, about 7 years old, and VERY sweet. He is tolerant of other dogs (even non dominant males!), and great with people, tho he will give a test or two to see if you are really the boss. He could use a diet. PUNKIN

This sweet longcoated girl was running stray, and was taken in by a good Samaritan that contacted us. Punkin is incredibly sweet, shy, and just a pup at about 18 months old. She seems to get along with calm male dogs. She would love a calm home, with lots of love to spoil her! She does have some separation anxiety.She loves to be cuddled and brushed, and loves tummy rubs. What a sweetheart!

He is a nice boy, seems to get along well with female dogs, and is still a bit of a puppy, but loves to be loved ! Rocco was the beloved pet of a Malamute Rescuer that recently, and unexpectedly passed away.  IAMRA agreed to take in Rocco, take care of him, and make sure he gets a great forever home. Even tho he is only an 'honorary mal' - he still needs our help. He is about 8 years old, 45 pounds, with big floppy ears,  and a real sweetie. He would be a great addition to any family!

Chancey once had a human Dad, but he got a new wife, and she didn't like dogs :( So poor Chancey, faithful companion, was dumped at the pound on death row.  Chancey is about 8 years old (acts younger!) and is a total sweetheart with people. DEMONA

DEMONA is an energetic young girl (approx 2-3) that loves all the people she has met, and likes (some) male dogs. She would be a great companion for a fun loving active family.  

What a sweetheart Simon is! This 6-8 month old pup may have a little shepherd in him, judging by the ears.  Isn't he adorable? He is a very nice boy, that is not dominant with other dogs. He is bubbly, and wants to play! He is a bit head shy, probably because his ignorant first people hit him to discipline him. Zena is a gorgeous young girl, about 15 months old. She loves people, loves to be petted brushed, snuggled. She does have a ton of energy tho! Zena will need to be an 'only child' - as she does not like other dogs. 

FOZZY is a great big longcoated fellow (just came from the groomer and is trimmed in the photo - he was badly matted), very regal and handsome!  He is two years old - just a youngster! He's wonderful with people, loves attention,  and he'd love a home with a doggie girlfriend, and some kids to play with!

CHELSEA is a beautiful, well bred 6 year old female that needs a new home. She is spayed, utd on shots, and hw negative. She is a sweetheart - housebroken, good with male dogs, good with children, loves all people. 

Kiya is a sweet 3 year old female, that was pulled from a pound in southern Illinois. She is a beautiful  girl, with lots of energy and personality. She is great with all people, although might be too bossy for a home with small children. She gets along with *some* male dogs, usually ones smaller and less bossy than she is.

Baby Callie is a sweet 12 month old girl, that was left behind, with no food and water, in a yard when her family moved. A Good Samaritan took her in, and called us to take her. She is an active, sweet young girl  that gets along well with most (male) dogs. 

What a happy guy! Vinny is just full of energy and love! This sweet 18-24 month old boy would love a home of his own with a big fenced yard and lots of people to play with. He needs some training - he may be too exuberant for small kids right now. 

Alex (left) is a sweet shy girl, 5 years old, from the same puppymill as Winter, Shy, Summer, and Batman. She would just love a quiet home to call her own, where she could be spoiled and loved. She is dog friendly, and possibly cat tolerant as well - she really would like a home with a canine companion. Alex does have IBS/IBD (irritable bowel) , which is controlled by feeding a specific type of food.
