RIPLEY              

Big, strong Ripley has come back to us at IAMRA, unfortunately his humans were no longer able to care for him :( Ripley is a sweet and loving dog, good with people and good with other dogs. He does need alot of exercise, and he has separation anxiety, so would need someone that would be with him a fair amount, and have time to work with him on this issue.

LUCKY              

Lucky is a very handsome 2 -3 year old male whose owner moved and left him behind :( Thankfully, a Good Samaritan made sure he made it safely to rescue! This big strong boy is all malamute! He would do best in a home with northern breed experience.

This young girl of about 3 yrs old was out of time at a downstate shelter, we made immediate arrangements to get her to us and to the vet - poor girl is skinny, filthy and matted, and has sores on many parts of her body :( Despite what she has been through, she is very sweet and loves attention! She is staying at our vets for awhile until she gets a little better, can you help us with her extra vet costs?

 Dillon (formerly Toolik) is one of Mama Asha's puppies, born in March of 2010. He lost his home when his person moved :( He has grown into a handsome young BIG boy. Like any pup, he is energetic and playful. He does well with other dogs that do well with him. He has basic manners, but will need a refresher in a new home, as any puppy would. Poor Kadin was left chained outside with no food, water, or shelter in Missouri - his family moved and simply left him behind :( Thankfully a Good Sam notified us and we were able to take him in. This extremely handsome fellow is great with people and likes to be the center of attention! He does not do well with other dogs, and needs to be an only dog. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and good house manners! He would do well in a malamute experienced home.

RANGER             

This young fellow was out of time at a downstate shelter - luckily we were able to save him from being euthanized! He is thin and dirty and full of worms, so he is at our vet now (8-25-11) being taken care of.

 Stryker is a big 6 year old fellow that landed in rescue because his human was not able to take care of him. He came in with his packmate, Snoopy. Stryker is a very nice boy - he is tolerant of other dogs that don't try to "boss" him, and is sweet with all people he has met! He absolutely adores kids, he is big and might knock small children down (in play) - but he would have a great time playing with bigger kids he could call his own!

This handsome, hw positive boy was dumped in MO with no place to go, and was facing death :( Our friends at SEMO lent a helping paw, and now sweet Stoli is on his way to IAMRA ! He very much needs a foster home to recover from his HW treatment, and donations to help pay for his treatment are much appreciated!

This sweet pair of 4 year olds were given up when their family could no longer afford to care for them, They came to us all the way from Arkansas, and are as sweet as can be! They adore each other, and are very good with humans. They could use a little brushing up on their training, but are really very nice, well behaved furries!

QUINCY               

Quincy is a very sweet fellow who came to us from MI (many thanks to our friends at CTHAA for helping him get here!). He is quite handsome, and has a very nice temperament. He has not had any problems around other dogs (so far) and seems to be a fairly easygoing guy. He is about 3 or 4 years old, and would make a wonderful addition to a loving home!

Natasha is a very pretty BIG girl, about 5  years old, that was out of time at a kill shelter in Northern Illinois. Natasha really adores the company of people, she thinks she is a lap dog! She is big and strong and can be pushy about what she wants, she would do well with someone who understands malamutes - and has plenty of time to give cuddles and belly rubs! She is choosy about her canine companions, but may do well with just the right (male) furry playmate.

This beautiful girl was out of time in a high kill shelter in MI - and with the help of our friends at CTHAA we were able to get her to safety. Gracie is sweet with humans and canines alike. She is around 3 years old, and has nice house manners - and is very very pretty!

Klondike came to us from downstate Illinois, with the help of a good samaritan! She is a lovely girl, appears to be about 18-24 months old. She is very calm and easygoing for her age, has terrific manners, and really enjoys the companionship of (adult) humans. She is not fond of small children, but bigger kids (teenage and up) are okay. She is tolerant of male dogs, but prefers to be an only spoiled princess.

Musso                           

Musso is a young handsome fellow, about 3 or 4 years old, who was out of time at a shelter in Alabama. What a darling boy he is! He is wonderful with all people, and is tolerant of both male and female (large) dogs that are tolerant of him. Once we get his heartworms cleared up, we expect he will be adopted quickly, he is a real mellow sweetheart!

ATKA          

Atka was an emergency pull from a downstate shelter - we cannot imagine why anyone would give up this sweet and very handsome fellow! Atka ia about 3 years old, and while mellow in temperament, loves to play. He does well with female dogs that do well with him. He seems to have some basic housemanners, and is a real sweetie pie!

Al is a very sweet young fellow (about 18 months) with a case of treatable mange - we are getting him all fixed up and then he will make his journey north! ARWEN                                                              

Arwen was pulled from a high kill pound in KY when she was out of time. She is a darling little girl, with a beautiful red coat, about 3-5 years old, and a wonderful companion - she adores the company of people and is very cuddly and snuggly. She is housebroken and crate trained, she does not have any issues with possessiveness or food guarding, and she loves tummy rubs! She really wants to please people.  She does NOT care for the company of other dogs, tho she is making a small amount progress in that department ( tho cannot live with another dog, can tolerant non dominant dogs in the next kennel/yard). She also likes to chase cats - so Arwen needs to be an "only child" - she would LOVE to be an only spoiled princess!

Poor Farley, his people never spent much time with him training or socializing him, and he has spent much of the last 2 years in a crate :(  He is very hungry for human attention. He is a big, pretty grey and white 3 year old boy that just needs some humans that will love him and take the time to work with him. He plays very well with the other (female) dogs in the household, and can be a real clown. He is housebroken, crate trained (even after being locked in a crate for 2 years by his previous owners, this sweet boy will still willingly go into his crate for dinnertime and bedtime). He just needs alot of TLC to make up for the lack of attention in his previous home.

NITRO came to us from a high kill shelter....we can't imagine why anyone would leave this sweet 12-18 month old boy behind! He loves to be around people, and is good with other dogs. Chief Johnny is as sweet as they come! This fellow came to us from a high kill shelter, and was just a bedragled mess, and acted much older than his age. He was being transferred from a high kill rural pound to a low kill shelter, when it was discovered he was HW positive, and could not be accepted by the shelter. So Andy came to us. KALVIN is adorable! This little 6 month old pup was left in a shelter in Indiana. He is sweet, playful, energetic, and needs lots of exercise and training - after all, he's a puppy! BANDIT 2

Look at this adorable woolie boy! He is about a year old, and was rescued by a good Samaritan - his "owner" was going to sell him at a flea market! Thank goodness the Good Sam stepped in, and Bandit is now safe with us at IAMRA. He is a happy bouncy pup, and seems to do well with most other dogs, females, and some laid back males. He's too much "puppy" for small kids tho.

SHANDI is about 18 months old, and has not had a great life :( She was dumped by a "breeder" for not getting along with other dogs or kids. It was just an excuse, as she doesn't seem to have a problem with either. This poor girl however, was never socialized and possibly mistreated, she is terrified of just about everything. This handsome mature fellow is quite a looker! And he is a nice boy too - housebroken and knows basic obedience, walks well on a leash. His parents were unable to keep him, as they had human kids that this big fellow didn't care for. Poor Jerry. Once upon a time, someone thought they wanted a dog, and brought Jerry home.  But, they must not have really wanted him, because they left him outside, tied to a tree, day after day, night after night, with no companionship. Worse yet, they put a pinch collar on him, and it became imbedded in his neck, and had to be surgically removed :(  It is now Jerry's turn to be loved. This sweet senior girl had a happy loving home her whole life, until a terrible tragedy befell her parents. We agreed to help, and now it looks like Lakota is a lucky girl indeed, she now has a new loving home with an IAMRA volunteer!

Lobo was left at a shelter in Moline.  He is about 3-4 years old, very active and needs obedience training, and an experienced adult only malamute home, but is a very sweet boy. He seems to get along well with female dogs. He would be a great working dog, sledder or weightpuller - he'd love to have a job to do!

Jazzy is a sweet pup of about 6 or 7 months.....she was seized by the County Humane Investigator because her owner had her tied up in the backyard and was unable to provide for her :(  She is very sweet and bouncy, has a ton of energy!  She is also very thin. Poor Bear Bear - he was dumped for 'crying' 24 hours after his dog buddy passed away. Of course he was crying, he missed his best friend. Poor Joe Sumo! when his uncaring owner was dumping him at the pound, he dragged him out of the truck, and broke his leg, and drove away. He spent nearly a week at the pound before we were contacted. NOOK is a very sweet 6-8 year old female dumped at a downstate pound. Thankfully, she was pulled on her last day by a wonderful all breed rescuer, Trisha. Nook is a very sweet and loving girl, but Nook was heartworm positive. During her treatment, we also discovered that she is incontinent. After many tests, including an exploratory laparotomy, it was determined nothing could be done. She was beaten so severely and frequently that she has nerve damage. So, Nook is now home - she will live with me, and her brother Finnigan, and the rest of our gang for the rest of her life. Welcome home, sweet Nook.

GRIZ traveled here to be with us after a fire destroyed much of the Tennessee Sleddog Rescue :( He is about 18 months old, but a big boy, and would do best in an experienced home.

CINNAMON is a sweet 8 month old female that was left in a shelter :(  She is a longcoat, and a very nice girl! She gets along well with (male) dogs.

ALPINE is a handsome 4 year old male with nice manners. He loves to talk. His owner lost his job and was forced to move, and was heartbroken to have to give him up. He is good with (female) dogs, and is a real sweetheart! He would do best in an experienced home.

Steele is a handsome 3 year old male. He is calm, with nice manners, and likes other (female dogs). He was left at the Chicago pound. He will jump fences, though!

Chief is a very dignified fellow of 7 or 8 years. He was dumped at the Chicago pound. He is a big fellow with nice manners, who would love a home of his own.  He is an escape artist, and a real character  :)

Mouka is a 4 year old female, whose owner became homeless and had to give her up :(  She was rescued and cared for by FURRY FRIENDS FOUNDATION. She is a sweet girl, housebroken, knows basic obedience, loves people, and is good with (male) dogs.

Harley was dumped at a shelter because his family no longer wanted him :( He is a playful, energetic 11 month old male. Harley gets along with (female) dogs.

Holly was given up to rescue because her family did not have anytime for her. She is a well bred, gorgeous 12 month old female. She is very active and playful, and would make a great sledding companion! She has a lovely personality, and gets along with  (male) dogs.

SHEBA is a sweet 4 year old female turned into a shelter in Wisconsin. She has very nice manners, and is a very friendly girl! She gets along with (male) dogs.

DIESEL is a 7 month old male pup, just a baby! He was dumped at a shelter. Diesel loves other dogs, and loves to play. He is wonderful with people, and is learning some basic obedience. What a cutie!

Igloo is a 12 month old male that was a stray. He is very sweet, and very playful ! He loves all people, but may play too rough for very small children. He gets along well with  (female) dogs.

Bear lost her home due to a divorce. Bear is 11 years old, and a very nice girl, and just wants a home of her own for her golden years. She is okay with some  (male) dogs, but no cats!

Klondike is a sweet 11 month old boy who was left at a shelter. He gets along well with (female) dogs, and seems to be cat tolerant! He is very calm for a young boy.

Panda's family did not want a dog anymore, she was no longer a cute tiny puppy,so they dumped her in a shelter:(  She is a 4 year old female, with nice manners and a sweet personality.

Tasha is a 12 month old female, that was found starving and  abandoned  by her previous owners. She is very sweet with people. She is young, active, and loves to play, and gets along with some (male) dogs.

Joker is a 2 year old boy, dumped in a shelter. He is very people oriented and playful, and gets along with (female) dogs.

Nick was not being cared for by his owners. Kind hearted folks talked them into giving Nick to rescue, so he could find a good home. He is 2-3 years old, very sweet, and small for a male, but has a big heart!

Kane is a 12 month old male that was turned in to a shelter, his owners had no time for him. He is a very sweet and playful boy, that gets along well with  (female) dogs, and gets along with cats too! He is a longcoat, and a very handsome fellow!

Finnigan is a 3-5 year old male, with a heart of gold, and a typical malamute personality. He gets along with (female) dogs, and even the occasional male dog. no cats, or small animals though! He will need a home that has alot of time to spend with him. He also needs a special diet and medication.

Finnigan was heartworm positive, mauled and starving, with a serious infection. We were able to save his life through the generous donations of Martha Mar, Mike and Kim Clark, Toni Parker, Greg and Lisa Downs, and other kind and generous people :)
