We currently have FOUR dogs in boarding kennels that need a foster home, plus our mascot Dakota! We need to raise $1200 per month, every month, until fosters or adoptors are found for these dogs. Please make a donation to help us save more malamute lives!
Please understand that malamutes often look different in person than in the pictures - it isn't always possible for us to get a good quality photo of each dog. Personality should be the number one concern when choosing a malamute companion!

| JORDAN
Poor Jordan. He was adopted as a pup from a local animal shelter. His people kept him for over FOURTEEN YEARS, then moved and dumped him, without so much as a pat on the head good-bye for all those years of loyal friendship. So this poor old man was alone, left to spend a few days in a cage before being killed. We couldn't let that happen. ALL dogs deserve a good life, especially the seniors, who have loved their humans unconditionally their whole lives. They deserve a little kindness in their twilight. Jordan has a wonderful foster home, and foster Dad Mitch, where he can enjoy his old age.
Would you like to help sponsor Jordan? No donation is too small to help
this senior fellow enjoy his senior days in the lap of luxury.
A donation has been made for Jordan, in loving memory of a wonderful malamute, Glade. Watch over your Mama, big guy. A donation was made by Eileen, in loving memory of
Sarge - AM, IN"T, Nat. CH.Wildwinds
Silent Sentry, WWPD.
Jordan is in foster care - Thanks Mitch :) |

Several dozen malamutes were seized on neglect charges in South Dakota recently. Sonja is one of them. She is 2+ years old, and is the most introverted of the bunch, she is very withdrawn. All the dogs are in need of socialization, it is apparent they got NOTHING in their former place. Physically they are coming along, but still need some emotional help. SONJA HAS A MONTHLY SPONSOR! SONJA needs supplements that cost about $30 a month - can you be Sonja's sponsor for supplements? SONJA is in foster care - thanks Pat & Frank! |

Dogs at area shelters:
BEWARE!! There are many 'rescues' that are nothing more than glorified puppy brokers! Be sure that ANY animal you adopt is fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, and all necessary shots and tests. Reputable rescues include all this, and more! You don't want to fall victim to 'puppies for profit' from a non-legitimate rescue!

A wonderful SOUTH DAKOTA mal-sibe mix in need of a new
home!
Kodiak is about 5 years old, about 70 pounds, very gentile big boy. He came to us from a home in Clay Co., SD, where 8 dogs were relinquished to us. He was kept on a chain near the house -- and boy, did he have a lot of nervous energy -- pacing, pacing... H'es been here about two weeks now, and we are very pleased with the dog we now have in our yard. He has calmed down quite a bit and it much more trusting of we human caretakers! It's amazing what a little love and tenderness will do for the spirit! We have seen NO AGGRESSION toward cats or dogs, and he never barks....! He's good with our kids and responds cautiously to our bidding, although he still has some nervous energy (pacing) from being on the chain for I-don't-know-how-long!
He's not UNfriendly, but not out-going! He needs someone that will be patient with him, giving him time to learn to trust and to seek pleasure for himself. Kodiak is really a nice boy -- beautiful and calm. He has been vetted, treated for a bad infection to his ears, and he is very gentle in accepting his treatments and care. Today we began to play ball. He has a lot to learn, but he seems interested and willing to try. If you would be interested in adopting Kodiak or providing foster care for Kodiak, please call me at 605-624-3039. Julie Rae
