Please help our homeless Malamutes!
The button below will take you to Pay Pal where you can make a secure donation to help IAMRA Malamutes!

Thank Woooooo!

IAMRA IS A 501c3 CHARITY!

Personality should be the number one concern when choosing a malamute companion -
please fill out the adoption information form and come meet some of our personalities!
Please help us support our Sanctuary Sweethearts, dogs that because of age or condition
are not available for adoption, but really need an extra helping paw so we can continue
to care for them. Can you sponsor a Sanctuary Sweetheart?

Spay/Neuter, Monthly, and Microchip sponsors help us defray the cost of dogs in rescue - we spend on average more than $750 per dog, with adoption fees making up only a part of that.

An important read about malamutes! Please click on the link below and read this information before filing out an adoption form:  http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/alaskanmalamutes.html

DAKOTA - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)

DAKOTA  is  is our IAMRA mascot. He has shown us, time and again, that we are his family, and with all of us he will have the forever home he has dreamed of.  We will care for him always, with the help of his generous sponsors.

Dakota's Boarding Sponsors: 1. In memory of Lobo, a dear friend.  2. Many thanks to PJ and the BigDogs!  3. Wooos to Gloria G and family! 4. Ozzie Erlichman and his non-furry parents, Rachel and Marc    5. In honor of Basa and Gracie

6&7. An anonymous friend of the malamutes!

Many thanks to Dakotas sponsors for making it possible for us to care for him.

DINAH - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)

Dinah was out of time at a downstate pound. Over the year she has been with us, her physical condition has deteriorated. First it was a tumor removal, then recurrent bladder issues - and now poor Dinah has rather severe arthritis in her hips and spine. We of course will continue to do everything we can to keep this sweet, 9 or 10 year old girl doing her best.

Dinah's sponsors: 1. Lori and Denis, in honor of Shiloh and in memory of Bixby  & Lexie    2. An anonymous friend of the malamutes!

Dinah is in sanctuary at Nancy's - and many thanks to her sponsors for making sure this girl is taken care of!

CHUCK                       February 2011

Poor Chuck was a neglect case. He has come a long way, with the help of some very wonderful friends, but still has a ways to go. He needs a home with malamute experience (and no small children) than can take this handsome diamond in the rough, and help him become the good boy he is meant to be. He is very sweet, but needs time and training. And he is a BIG fellow - walking him is like walking a very strong pony! He is a young fellow, not yet 2, with his whole life ahead of him, just waiting for the perfect person to come along and adopt him!

DO YOU WANT TO BUY A PUPPY?

Please get your furry family member from a REPUTABLE rescue or REPUTABLE breeder!

Looking for a reputable breeder? click here for information: www.nowisconsinpuppymills.org/goodbreeders.html

Our friends at the Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin are also a great resource if you are interested in potentially purchasing a puppy . www.amcw.org

6 million or more dogs a year are put to death because of overpopulation. An estimated 30% of them are purebreds, and more than half are under the age of two. Please consider saving a life and adopting your next best friend!

Sponsorships and general donations can be sent via PayPal

or sent to:

 IAMRA  200 E Evergreen #123 Mt Prospect Illinois 60056

The homeless malamutes thank you for your help.  100% of donations go directly toward the care of the homeless malamutes!

Would you like to provide food or treats for the homeless malamutes? Please send an email to Holly at info@wholepet.com for information on the food and treat needs of our furries! Or make a donation using the PayPal button at the top of this page.

A note to our generous sponsors. We thank you, and if we have missed listing your sponsorship, please notify us and we will amend our error....remember, to err is human, to forgive, canine! Again, our heartfelt thanks for helping these wonderful dogs. We could not do it without you!

As of June 1st 2006 the adoption costs will be as follows:

$200 for adult dogs, $250 for puppies under 12 months, and $100 for seniors 8 and over. We will also require an additional $100 contract deposit, that will be refunded upon completion of contractual obligations associated with adoption. Payment for adoption and deposit can be made by cash, certified check, cashiers check or money order. Regrettably, we can no longer accept personal checks for adoptions.

Dogs at area shelters:

BEWARE!! There are many 'rescues' that are nothing more than glorified puppy brokers! Be sure that ANY  animal you adopt is fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, and all necessary shots and tests. Reputable rescues include all this, and more!  You don't want to fall victim to 'puppies for profit' from a non-legitimate rescue!

Lucy  July 2011

This beautiful and impressive Collie/Alaskan Malamute mix looks like a smooth tri-colored Collie in the face with the markings and physique of the Malamute. This is no dainty girl and her pictures don’t do her justice! She is gorgeous!

Lucy loves to work and is eager to please her humans! She is constantly watching and waiting for her next command. Lucy has learned to understand life with humans through positive reinforcement and clicker training, and she is a quick learner! Lucy knows sit, down, watch me, settle, leave it, heel and no pull (for loose leash walking). Lucy would love to find a forever home where her humans will lead her with commands - it really helps her feel secure and relax.

Lucy will make an experienced dog owner very happy as she continues to grow into the great dog we know she will be. Lucy would be most comfortable in a home as the only dog, with no cats or small children. As the "only child," Lucy would thrive and would be the companion you always dreamed of!

The adoption contribution for Lucy is $250.00. Please contact Charlene Molnar at chareliz@sbcglobal.net for more information about Lucy or any of our other adoptable dogs

Lucy

Dogs still with owners seeking new homes:

Adoptions for dogs listed here are strictly between adoptor and current owner. IAMRA assumes no liability / responsibility for these adoptions/dogs.

Lady is beautiful 9 year old female in need of a new home. She has wonderful manners, and is a very sweet girl! She is dog friendly, and also cat tolerant (she currently lives with 2 other dogs and a cat). She loves going for walks, playing at the dog park, and getting snacks! (she is a big girl, about 100 pounds, and needs to watch her waistline - so not too many snacks!) If you are interested in Lady, please email Nioka at nchisho2@gmail.com

For information on how to list your dog for re-homing on our site, please visit our "Need to give up your Malamute" section. We are also happy to list other northern breeds.

Alaskan Malamutes ALWAYS have brown eyes! If you are looking for a blue eyed dog - that would be a Siberian Husky! (Huskies can also have brown or bi- eyes....but Malamutes can ONLY have brown eyes) Visit Husky rescue at www.siberianrescue.org
