BEWARE!! There are many 'rescues' that are nothing more than glorified puppy brokers!
Be sure that ANY animal you adopt is fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, and all necessary shots and tests. Reputable rescues include all this, and more! You don't want to fall victim to 'puppies for profit' from a non-legitimate rescue!

Zeus
Hello my name is Zeus. I am currently residing at the Roscommon County Animal Shelter in Prudenville, MI. My owners surrendered me and my sister back on May 22, 2026. My sister got adopted awhile ago but I am still looking for a new home. The people here have been really good to me but I am tired of this small kennel. I protect my area when I am in this kennel but the shelter workers tell me that is not a good thing because people think I am aggressive. When I am out of my kennel I am happy and love to go for walks and play in the yard. I am frisky and get the zoomies when I am outside. This is my favorite thing to do during the day. The staff also brushes my coat when I am outside and I LOVE to be brushed.
I do get along with other dogs but I am selective as to which ones I want to make friends with. I prefer the girls but some of the guys are okay too. They tell me I am the alpha dog which I think that is a good thing but I am not real sure. Slow introductions are best for me and new friends. I do not want to live in a home with cats though, they are not my favorite. I am good with all the kennel staff except the big male animal control officer named Will. He scares me so I bark at him a lot when he comes by me. I’m not his biggest fan either so the feeling is mutual. I can be stand offish with men at first but usually warm up once I get to know them and getting treats from them helps too.
I am six years old, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all my vaccines. I am also up to date on flea medications and deworming. I am a good, gentle and quiet Mali and I have manners and listen well. I also always try to keep my kennel clean and only go potty outside.
Did I also mention that I enjoy a good Nyla Bone!
My adoption fee is $175 and I am more than ready to get out of here if you are willing to give me a try. I promise I’ll be a good boy! Love Zeus
