Adoption Application
IAMRA does not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.  Although we rarely adopt to persons under 25, these applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  We do not adopt to homes who have electronic fences as the only form of containment. Since malamutes do best with opposite gender when it comes to other dogs, the vast majority of our adoptions will be opposite gender.
IAMRA responds to all inquiries about our dogs, giving up your dog, or information in general via e-mail. Please make sure to check you spam folder if you haven't heard from us within 2 - 3 days.

Nova - September 2020 - Adoption Pending!!!

Picture
Nova is a 6 year old red and white malamute that came in with Sequoia and Luna.  Sequoia seems particularly bonded to her.  While these three do very well with each other, they have displayed some dislike toward other dogs of both sexes, especially when they are together a pack.  Nova is a very tall girl and presents herself as the reserved lady of the the three, putting up with their shenanigans and maintaining her dignity.  Her clown comes out every so often.

Picture
Sequoia is a 4 year old red and white malamute who is almost, but not quite as tall as Nova.  Sequoia is the outgoing social butterfly and voice of the three and definitely has a goofy side.

Simba - August 2025

Picture
Simba came in from OK with his companion Bear when his owner moved and couldn't take them with. He is around 3 years old. Simba is very sweet, a bit more reserved than Bear, and can be a bit intense with other dogs, though he and Bear get along fine.  He does have some storm sensitivity, but withdraws rather than being destructive.  He is crate trained, and fully vetted.

Bear - August 2025 - Adoption Pending!!!

Picture
Bear came in with Simba from OK when his owner had to move and couldn't take them with.  He is also around 3 years old and with his blue eyes leans more toward our Siberian Husky cousins.  Bear is a ham. He’s very outgoing, friendly and is doing really well in play groups.  He is fully vetted and crate trained.

Kita - November 2025 - Adoption Pending!!

Picture
Kita is a one year old girl with a lovely temperament that was dumped in an Indiana shelter because she got ‘too big’ for the apartment she was living in!

Kita is being fostered by Judy J. - thank you Judy!!

Kicking Bird (KB) - November 2025

Picture
Poor KB was picked up stray, with a horribly embedded collar. Lucky for him, he was taken to the Animal Hospital of Gurnee where they were able to save his life! KB needed four surgeries to close his wound, and still has a long road ahead of him.  He is a very sweet, loving boy, but does have separation anxiety, we believe he was horribly neglected. He is making great strides in his foster home (Thank you Kim C!).

Donations for his care are greatly appreciated, and we also have a wishlist on Chewy.com:
