Adoption Application
IAMRA does not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.  Although we rarely adopt to persons under 25, these applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  We do not adopt to homes who have electronic fences as the only form of containment. Since malamutes do best with opposite gender when it comes to other dogs, the vast majority of our adoptions will be opposite gender.
IAMRA responds to all inquiries about our dogs, giving up your dog, or information in general via e-mail. Please make sure to check you spam folder if you haven't heard from us within 2 - 3 days.

Nova - September 2020

Picture
Nova is a 6 year old red and white malamute that came in with Sequoia and Luna.  Sequoia seems particularly bonded to her.  While these three do very well with each other, they have displayed some dislike toward other dogs of both sexes, especially when they are together a pack.  Nova is a very tall girl and presents herself as the reserved lady of the the three, putting up with their shenanigans and maintaining her dignity.  Her clown comes out every so often.

Sequoia - September 2020

Picture
Sequoia is a 4 year old red and white malamute who is almost, but not quite as tall as Nova.  Sequoia is the outgoing social butterfly and voice of the three and definitely has a goofy side.

Moose - October 2020

Picture
Moose is a 7 month old red and white girl that came to us due to behavioral issues in her previous home.  Moose will need someone who is relatively experienced with malamutes, and would be willing to participate in ongoing training and socialization.

Fable - November 2021 - Adoption Pending!!

Picture
Fable is a 4 year old male that had to be re-homed due to living circumstances. He is house broken and crate trained.  He has a lovely temperament, he is a very sweet boy! He would do well with a female dog as a playmate. He loves attention, and so far has been great with people of all ages.

Shadow - March 2022

Picture
Stunning Shadow is a three year old, gorgeous long coat malamute. He was relinquished to a shelter because his owners were moving. Shadow is great with other dogs, but needs a house without cats and other squeaky animals. He know sit, down, wait, take it, belly rubs, and turns his head when recalled - especially when food is involved. Shadow is very strong, and though his leash manners are improving, he needs firm control when there are distractions. He also has some abandonment issues - he does settle down after alone, but he really doesn’t like to watch his people leaving - even if it’s just into another area out of sight. He will love his family so much (so many treats and belly rubs!), but is not a fan of strangers, especially men.  Oh, and he has a slight addiction problem to paper products. He must really like the way napkins and paper towels feel on the way out, and he’s so fast at grabbing them when they fall. Shadow is going to make a great snuggly addition to a malamute experienced home. No small children – while he is friendly with them, he could easily knock over and injure small kids unintentionally.

SHADOW NEEDS MONTHLY SPONSORS!

Shadow has a neuter and microchip sponsor! Our thanks to Linda LeFauve, Craig Bove, and their handsome rescue boy Alex!

Shadow is fostered with Danielle & George – thank you!
